This booklet has two objectives: to help you acquire the fundamental disciplines of the Christian life, and to equip you to accompany another person on this path, in the simplest way possible. We want to see you acquire biblical responses to the most common situations you’ll experience as you walk with Jesus. That’s how you’ll develop your “spiritual muscles”, making it easier to learn whatever the Spirit wants you to discover later on. We also want to equip you to pass on what you learn. This will strengthen you and the Church of Jesus Christ. Ideally, you should go through this booklet in a small group and then encourage others to do the same.

Florent VARAK
Florent VARAK est né à Lyon en 1966, dans une famille passionnée de spiritualité orientale. Le témoignage d’un ami de classe de terminale le conduit à lire l’Évangile. En 1984, il se convertit au christianisme dans une église évangélique baptiste. Il fait des études de commerce aux États-Unis (B.S.B.A. de University of Hartford, Connecticut, 1988), tout en participant à diverses formations bibliques. Une jeune église de Lyon l’embauche pour un stage qui conduit à 25 années de travail pastoral au sein de l’Église Protestante Évangélique Villeurbanne-Cusset. En 2003, il prend une année sabbatique pour terminer une Maîtrise de Théologie commencée longtemps avant (Master’s of Divinity, Master’s Seminary, Californie, 2004).
Florent enseigne régulièrement à l’Institut Biblique de Genève depuis 1998 et anime le célèbre podcast Un pasteur vous répond.
Depuis 2015, Florent travaille au sein de Encompass World Partners pour coordonner le travail d’équipes pastorales chargées du développement d’églises et de formation de pasteurs.
Il publie en 1990 La Réincarnation puis La Foi Charismatique ; Le mariage de Jésus, l'Évangile et le citoyen et Manuel du prédicateur. Il a dirigé la rédaction du livre 2012, le silence de l’église et Merci La Bible Il est l’auteur de plusieurs articles publiés dans diverses revues protestantes (Revue Réformée ; Info FEF ; Promesses) et de La Bible en 1000 mots.
Florent et Lori se sont mariés en 1989 et habitent en région lyonnaise. Ils ont trois enfants et plusieurs petits-enfants. Ils sont impliqués à l’EPEV-C et dans une église en cours d’implantation à Trévoux, dans l’Ain.
Christine PICQ
Christine Picq est tour à tour professeur des écoles, mère au foyer de 3 filles et maintenant missionnaire au sein de la mission Encompass en République Centrafricaine. Elle travaille au développement de ressources d’évangélisation et de discipulat, notamment à destination de l’Afrique francophone. Avec son mari Jean elle a été impliquée plusieurs années dans l’implantation d’une Église à Trévoux.
